The 14th International Organ Academy Alkmaar will be held from June 9th – June 17th 2017 and consists of workshops, masterclasses, concerts and excursions. Application can be made as an active – or non-active participant. The academy is open to organ students, professional organists and advanced amateurs. Participants work with international specialists on a repertoire specifically attuned to the characteristics of the teaching organs. Lessons are held in the Grote Sint Laurenskerk on both world famous organs – the Van Hagerbeer/Schnitger organ (1646/1725) and the Van Covelens organ (1511), and on the wonderful Müller organs of the Kapelkerk (1762) and the Lutheran Church (1755), all in Alkmaar. A unique opportunity to gain knowledge and experience on these top instruments! Spoken language at the academy will be English.

The jury members of the International Schnitger Organ Competition 2017 will teach at the academy, as well as the organists:
Pieter van Dijk, organ professor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Hochschüle für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and
Frank van Wijk, organ teacher and organist of the Ruïnekerk in Bergen (NH), the Netherlands.
